Xerox North American Executive Gary Gillam to Lead
Computing Technology Industry Association Board of Directors
Elected Chairman at Annual Breakaway Conference
Las Vegas, Nev., August 5, 2005 –An information technology (IT) industry veteran will lead the board of directors of the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) in 2005-2006, the association announced today.
Gary Gillam, vice president, North American Resellers Channel Operations, Xerox North America, was elected chairman at this week’s Breakaway 2005 conferencehere. Breakaway is the premiere partnering event for IT business leaders, resellers, manufacturers, distributors, and solutions providers.
Gillam succeeds Robert J. Sartor as chairman of the CompTIA board. Sartor, director of industry and customer programs for DHL Information Systems (Americas) Inc., will continue to serve as an ex-officio member of the board.
In his role at Xerox, Gillam is responsible for sales of printers and low to mid-range multifunction products through distributors as well as national resellers. He maintains responsibility for inside sales organizations that support value-added resellers, solutions providers and service contract sales. Gillam held domestic and global senior sales positions at Tektronix and Microrim prior to joining Xerox. He is a graduate of the University of Oregon with a degree in Journalism.
Elected vice chairman of the CompTIA board of directors was Wayne Mize, vice president, solutions marketing division, Ricoh Corp.
Todd Meister, president, Global Recruiters of Madison, will serve as CompTIA board treasurer for 2005-06. Alan Borck, president and chief executive officer, ARC Communications, was elected board secretary. Also elected to the CompTIA board of directors were Robin Adda, gtsleaning; David Bernstein, Anything IT; Greg Dixon, ScanSource, Inc.; Rick Gray, Decision One; Lisa Loe, Symantec Corporation; Bill Owens, Lenovo; Pete Peterson, Tech Data Corp.; Jon Reardon, Reardon & Associates, Inc.; Glen Robertson, SERVICE 800 Inc.; Ted Roller, Quanexus North; Mark Romanowski, AMC System Integration, Inc.; M.J.
Shoer, Jenaly Technology Group, Inc.; and Brian Wiser, Ingram Micro.
