Spring Voice On the Net 2006
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS
WIRE)--March 14, 2006--Whaleback
Systems(TM) has announced that
Jenaly Technology Group has
selected Whaleback's CrystalBlue
Voice Service(TM), which
provides Small and Medium
Businesses (SMBs) with access to
rich Voice over IP (VoIP)
functionality that they can
leverage via a simple broadband
cable or DSL connection.
Jenaly has deployed Whaleback's
SMB 1500 IP PBX in its
headquarters location to provide
enhanced telephony services via
its broadband cable connection.
M.J. Shoer, president of Jenaly,
explained, "Whaleback offers a
unique blend of hardware and
service that reduces telecom
costs and enhances employee
productivity. We saw other VoIP
equipment manufacturers as
enabling VoIP within the 'four
walls' of a business
environment, but we needed a
solution that would support
home-based workers and traveling
workers as well. The Whaleback
solution is a total VoIP play
made up of both hardware and
services, and it is unique in
the marketplace."
Jenaly is an outsourced IT firm
offering consulting,
implementation and proactive
managed support services to SMBs.
Shoer estimates that Jenaly will
receive full payback on its
investment in the Whaleback
solution in only 8.5 months. The
company is able to reduce both
cellphone charges and bandwidth
charges for phone company
services to its headquarters
location.
The new Road Warrior
Functionality(TM) allows Jenaly
employees to access the SMB 1500
IP PBX from their home offices,
or from client locations or
Wi-Fi hotspots via the Internet.
"I have a Whaleback softphone on
my laptop that allows me to
place and receive calls from any
broadband connection," said
Shoer. "I can access my voice
mail from my laptop computer,
and since we all have PDA
phones, we can also access our
voice mail from handheld
devices. This allows us to keep
in touch with our clients and
with each other without the need
to constantly call the office
for messages, and it brings the
power of a strong
telecommunications
infrastructure to us as we work
outside of the walls of our
business."
He continued, "Whaleback's
CrystalBlue Voice Service and
Road Warrior Functionality
allows us to access voice mail
and enhanced telephony features
from wherever we happen to be at
the moment. I can receive calls
whether I'm at my desk, in the
car, at a client location, at a
Wi-Fi hotspot, working from home
or traveling across the
country."
Jenaly workers also plan to take
advantage of the innovative
OrcaDial feature, which enhances
productivity by delivering
click-to-dial functionality
across multiple applications. "OrcaDial
is a fabulous feature. Being
able to quickly initiate calls
from any number of desktop
software applications is a major
key to productivity,
particularly when we are working
in cramped quarters at a client
location," said Shoer. OrcaDial
works with diverse desktop
applications, including
Microsoft (Nasdaq:MSFT) Word,
Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint as
well as Adobe (Nasdaq:ADBE) PDF
files. It also allows users to
click on phone numbers displayed
on Web pages or email clients to
initiate calls.
